    Geraniaceae: a downy annual to 40cm, that recalls Dove’s-foot Crane’s-bill. Found in dry, grassy places, on calcareous and sandy soils. The flowers are 10-12mm across, with pink and not notched, sepals inflated, blooming from April-August. The leaves are rounded, only shallowly lobed. The Britain its distinctly local, mainly in Southern England. Native from Europe-East Asia.

     

    USES:

    The plant has astringent and diuretic properties.

     

    GROWING INFORMATION:

    Surface sow seeds in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer. Succeeds in any moderately fertile retentive soil in a sunny position.
