Asteraceae: an herbaceous perennial growing 50–200cm tall. The stems are upright and marked with purplish red. clusters of small, pinkish/purplish flowers in corymbs, August-September. Found growing in moist grassland along riverbanks. Chinese medicinal herb. Native range of this species is China to Japan and Vietnam. Originally collected in Tianzhushan, Anqing, Anhui, China.
Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs. Well-drained but moisture retentive garden soil in sun or part shade.
