Asteraceae A biennial herb, 10-45 cm tall. They have a strong taproot and a milky sap. They generally have few branches, and those there are tend to be upright. Their leaves are grass-like. Bronze coloured flowers in June, followed a globe seed head like that of a huge dandelion. Native to the Balkan region.
Sow seeds warm, they germinate very easy. If sown from late summer to autumn plants will flower the following year, if spring sown they will flower in their second year. Rare in cultivation.
