    Scrophulariaceae: a semi-parasitic annual growing to 50cm. A semi-parasitic plant of grass found meadows, and rough grassland. Yellow flowers from May to August, and the seeds ripen from July to September. The seeds rattle in inflated seed pods. Native to Europe, including Britain, from Iceland south and east to Spain, W. Siberia, and the Caucasus.

    A semi-parasitic plant of grass, it can be grown in a meadow. Seeds as best be sown in autumn or winter to break natural dormancy in the seed.
