    'Perennial Honesty'

    Brassicaceae: a hairy-stemmed rhizomatous herbaceous perennial herb to 90cm tall. Found in open mountain forests and in ravines, on screes, from foothills to mountains. on lime substrates. Panicles of fragrant, light purple or white flowers, 2.5cm wide. Blooming from May-July. Elliptical seed pods. The leaves are toothed, and triangular-heart-shaped. The Perennial Honesty is a protected plant in some countries and a rare native throughout Europe.

     

    GROWING INFORMATION:

    Cold-germinator. The sowing must be kept warm (about +18 to +22°C) and moist for the first 2–4 weeks. After this period the sowing must be kept at a cold temperature (between –4 and +4°C) for another 4–6 weeks.

    Succeeds in ordinary garden soil, but prefers a light soil and partial shade but also succeeds in full sun. Sow seeds in early spring or early autumn in situ. The plant will often self-sow.
