Rosaceae: a spreading perennial to 50cm, with stems that are coated in silvery hairs. Found on dry, gravelly soils. The flowers are 15-25mm across, the 5 yellow petals, in loose clusters, blooming from May-June. The leaves are digitate with a narrow leaflet; the undersides are coated with silvery hairs. Rare and found locally, mainly in South Eastern England. Native to most of Europe.
Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. A perennial herb of dry, freely-draining, gravelly or sandy soils, in full sun.
