Dipsacaceae: A short lived perennial to 180cm. Forming bold clumps of deeply cut, toothed, dark green, leaves. Pincushion like heads of pale-yellow flowers flecked with magenta stamens, borne on tall stems in summer. Seed heads last into winter. Native to Syria.
These seeds germinate rapidly depending on species and origin. If germination does not occur after 3–4 weeks a cooling period of 2–4 weeks is recommended. Full sun to part shade, well drained site. Self-seeds well.
